British Couple Paul and Rachael Chandler have now been held captive by Somalian Pirates for over 100 days. The Pirates are demanding a $7 million ransom for the return of the couple, who are being held in an unknown inland location in Central Somalia. The British Governement is refusing to pay, as is their policy. Paul and Racheal are seperated, and being held in different locations. The physical health of both are slowly deteriorating. What should governments do in order to prevent piracy? What should they do in situations like this?

Hopefully we can seriously address those questions collectively.
ReplyDeleteThe government says they won't pay but do they have any sort of plan? Maybe some third-party, humanitarian organization should help. They wouldn't seem equipped to deal with pirates though. There has to be someone or some group able to help
ReplyDeleteThere has to be a government program/organiztion addressing this issue that citizens are unaware of. We must find solution to separate the followers from there leaders and stop piracy ,and investing in to third world state might be a small solution to a huge problem
